A Content Management System (CMS) enables content to be edited and new content created without requiring any website code changes. A CMS will typically store it's content in a database and users will be able to login and edit and create content from an administration interface.
The very first website Beetleweb delivered was a content managed website and it remains one of they key areas of our business.
Drupal Content Management System
Our most common implementation platform for a CMS is Drupal. Drupal is an Open Source content management system which has a very large and active user base, and boasts an impressive feature list including:
search engine friendly, extensible architecture, role based permission system, search facility, user authentication, polls, templating, threaded comments, version control, blogger API, content syndication, news aggregator, permalinks, multi-language, caching.
Whilst the Drupal Open Source License means there there is no license cost, clients should appreciate that any serious CMS based website, whether open source or not, requires skilled support and careful management to ensure the system remains stable and secure.
Beetleweb have implemented dozens of Drupal based CMS websites and have been securely maintaining them since 2006.
